Art in Transit: A 1000 Piece Graffiti Puzzle is a journey back to 1980s New York City. The extraordinary photograph by Martha Cooper not only captured the city but is also a glimpse into graffiti history and the birth of hip hop. Through her lens Cooper’s sharp eye combined New York City’s skyline with the classic 1980s graffiti on the subways, the memory of which today has become embedded in its DNA.
