Laurie Johnson - Lady & the Highwayman (original Score) The 1988 television film, directed by John Hough and based on Barbara Cartland's 1952 novel Cupid Rides Pillion (also known as Dangerous Love), is set during the Restoration of King Charles II in England. It stars Emma Samms, Hugh Grant, Michael York, Oliver Reed, Claire Bloom, Robert Morley, and Lysette Anthony. Laurie Johnson composed and conducted the score, drawing inspiration from Hollywood's Golden Age composers such as Sir William Walton, Franz Waxman, Max Steiner, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, and Bernard Herrmann
